About

Hi, I’m Evan 👋
I do content design, UX writing, content strategy, and copywriting—which means I work on things like words, taxonomies, information architecture, user journeys, page strategies, style guides, UX research, and more.

My background in music, architecture, and design thinking grounds and informs my approach to creative work. In general, I love strengthening the effectiveness, pleasure, and humanity of the digital touchpoints we encounter every day.

My past work includes editorial writing and copywriting in advertising and creative agencies. I’m currently a content designer on the UX team at MillerKnoll.

Products on Millerknoll.com

Content strategy / Taxonomy / Content design

To better serve our contract furniture audience and display all of our brand collective’s products in one place, we launched public-facing product detail pages on millerknoll.com. I audited and analyzed our brands’ various assortments, as well as competitors’, to come up with a higher-level product definition and taxonomy. I also partnered with the product designer on navigation design and filter strategy, coming up with a new and easier way to browse and refine a wide arrary of categories and products.

Herman Miller Chair Quiz

Content design / UX writing

The MillerKnoll Retail team wanted to create a tool on our Herman Milelr ecommerce site that would help shoppers narrow down their office chair choices. I partnered with the product designer, developer, and product marketing specialist to design and write a simple, quick, and actionable experience.

HAY site refresh

Content strategy / IA / Taxonomy / Content design

Danish brand HAY, part of the MillerKnoll collective, needed an on-brand refresh as part of a re-platforming of their US ecomm site. I performed stakeholder workshops to refine brand voice and tone, create job stories, and develop new content strategies for different page types. I also analyzed the product offer and user-tested different options to arrive at a newly optimized product taxonomy. Throughout, I partnered with the lead product designer on the overall look and feel, content design updates across the site, and some minimal, more on-brand ux copy updates.
